Tyco Electronics has launched its SlimLine jack connector which operates at over 1 GHz.

The AMP-Twist 7AS SL connector combines ease of installation with a high-density style, says Tyco.

Its optimised quadrant design allows a connector performance tested up to 1500 MHz on all pairs.

The high bandwidth means that its operating frequency is twice as high as the Category 7A frequency limit. This extra bandwidth means the connector will function reliably in demanding applications such as cable TV up to 862 MHz, broadband video and high-speed data distribution.
