Tyco Thermal Controls has developed the Raychem self-regulating electric heating cable that offers frost protection for central heating systems that lie dormant in the winter months

The product is aimed at schools, holiday homes and other properties unoccupied for periods during the winter.

The pipework is capable of withstanding the high temperatures of active systems but removes the need to drain the whole system.
