Following almost a year of pre-planning, NG Bailey & Co has started work on site at Manchester's Urbis Centre exhibition hall.
The company sealed the £3.3 million contract for installation of m&e and plumbing services after winning both tender stages of a design intent produced for Manchester City Council by Farley Consulting Engineers.

Close planning with the building design team has been necessary due to the tight spaces available for services and the absence of walls: the Urbis Centre will be a fully-glazed eight-storey building. The glazing has also intensified the need for accurate temperature control. NG Bailey is working with main contractor Laing. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2002.
