Building Awards judge speaks to Building’s editor Chloe McCulloch

Zoe Price, ISG’s chief operating officer for its UK construction business and Building Awards judge, has spoken exclusively with Building’s editor Chloe McCulloch about how this recession is different to any in living memory.

The interview with Price, timed to coincide with the Building Awards shortlisting day, is the first in a series of video interviews with construction bosses on how they are trying to lead their businesses out of the current crisis. In it she describes the moment in March when the ISG board had to decide to pause all work on construction sites to make sure they could operate safely during the lockdown.

Watch the above video to hear on how ISG handled the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the impact they have had on productivity, and Price’s view on how the sector can find a way forward in the coming months.

Price also highlights some positive outcomes for the industry over the past six months - a theme picked up in Building’s Proud to Help campaign this year and which is being celebrated in a Building Awards category dedicated to construction firms that have helped in the national recovery effort.
