Sketch of the week: Richmond upon Thames College

This week’s #buildingdoodle sketch is by Philip Watson, design director at Atkins. It is an initial concept sketch for the new Richmond upon Thames College. Watson says the image “explores the idea of a ribbon of teaching accommodation around an inviting ‘learning landscape’ of stepped plateau spaces”.

“Naturally lit and with views out, this is a series of enticing spaces where students and staff can socialise and work informally; where movement around the building can be observed, and a sense of a connected college community is engendered,” he adds.
