Measures are needed to help the smaller housebuilders rather than those at the top who are recovering well

social housing

Maybe I’m missing something (“Clegg announces £225m housing boost”, first published on building.co.uk, 22 November), but this doesn’t seem to be the problem. The large housebuilders that this will benefit are recovering well and appear to be matching their output to reflect weak demand and protect their margins. It is the smaller housebuilders that are struggling with finance, which these measures have done little to address.
