Alfred McAlpine had to deal with landfill waste on new dual carriageway ECI
The aim of Alfred McAlpine's road scheme was to improve the capacity of the trunk road network and take traffic away from the Goss and Tregoss Special Area of Conservation.
The scheme crossed a licensed landfill site that was operational prior to 1994. Investigation found that a variety of wastes were contained that ranged from inert to hazardous.
