Hochtief has announced the appointment of Stephen Ives as managing director of Hochtief (UK) Construction. He takes over from Leslie Forrest.

Gleeson's rail subsidiary, Gleeson MCL, has promoted Danny Duggan to deputy managing director. He joined the company in 1984 as a site agent.

Edward Ware Homes has created an in-house architecture department and appointed design director Richard Silverman (left) and company architect Neil MacOmish to head it up.

Office fit-out specialist Morgan Lovell has appointed Derek Jones southern regional director. He has moved from the southern region special projects team.

The UK branch of real estate agency CoreNet Global has appointed Matthew Battle vice-president of branch development.

Martin Markcrow, design director at architect John McAslan + Partners, has left the practice to set up his own architecture firm.

Kevin Poolton (left) has been promoted to director of the Midlands office of architect and town planner Peter Taylor Associates. He will be based in Birmingham city centre.

Brian Robinson, commissioner for the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority at the Association for Specialist Fire Protection, has succeeded David Woolley as the association's president.
