Housebuilders
Hughie Caffery has been appointed construction director at Redrow Homes for South Midlands, based in Northampton.

Laing Homes has made two appointments. Russell West has been appointed construction director of the South East Thames region. Guy Hampson, formerly with Swan Hill, joins the South East Thames team as sales and marketing director, based in Sevenoaks.

Simon Cox joins Persimmon Homes as construction manager for East Midlands, based in the Peterborough office.

Consultants
Chris Holmes has been promoted to associate at architectural practice Red Box Design Group, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Lee Lloyd, previously with Gleeds, has joined property and construction consultancy McBains Cooper in the Birmingham office as director of project management and cost management.

Construction Group Consultancy has appointed Andrew Smith, formerly of Symonds Group, senior project manager. He will be responsible for assisting in corporate relocation within the London area.

Nigel Bevan and Martyne Harmer, formerly of John Shreeves & Partners have set up their own project management, cost consultancy and facilities management company Quantic Management, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Charlie Baillie has been appointed sales manager of fenestration engineers MagHansen's new office, based in Falkirk, Scotland.

Institute
Tim Hawkes, chief executive of Peterborough-based Minster General Housing Association will be retiring at the end of this year. He will be succeeded by Steve Wilson (right), currently the association's director of housing services and chief executive.

Speedy Hire Direct, an arm of construction equipment provider Speedy Hire, has appointed Greg Wood to head its major and national accounts department.
