Contractors
David McEvoy has joined Edinburgh-based contractor FM Construction as project director. Donald Turner and Alistair Mason have also joined the firm as commercial manager and senior surveyor respectively. All three appointees previously worked for Ballast Construction (Scotland).

Consultants
Mura Mullan has been made an associate of Newcastle-based architect Jane Darbyshire and David Kendall.

Town planning consultant
Terence O'Rourke has appointed Melanie Kaviani architectural assistant. Steve Buckle has also joined the firm as landscape architect.

Inspace Environment, which provides building services maintenance, has appointed Stephen Pippard business development manager. Pippard moves to Inspace from Regatta FM.

Specialist shopfitter Styles and Wood has promoted Andy Shaw to divisional managing director, having worked his way up from assistant planner in 1989.

Institute
Simon Russett, principal of services consultant Hoare Lea's lift engineering group, has been appointed chairman of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers' lift group. He will take up the position in February.

Suppliers
Brassware supplier Deva has appointed Neil Overton sales and marketing manager. He will be responsible for all products in the Deva brand.

Automatic gate and barrier supplier BPT Automation has appointed John Clark managing director. Clark has 38 years' experience in the industry.
