On 11 September 2001, 67 British subjects lost their lives in the World Trade Centre attacks

On 6 July the Queen formally opened the British Garden at Hanover Square in New York as a memorial to them. Situated in Lower Manhattan, the garden also celebrates the historic ties of friendship between the USA and the UK. It was designed by Isabel and Julian Bannerman and British sculptor Simon Verity carved the map of Great Britain.

The funding requirement is continuing for the upkeep of the garden. I would urge others to support this unique, green, peaceful memorial by visiting www.britishgarden.org.
