Purcell’s associate and heritage consultancy manager on buying sandals, Dire Straits, and her relationship with her tablet

Heather Jeremy

What is your favourite website?

I like www.apartmenttherapy.com. Even though I don’t live in an apartment, it is a great source of info on design, food and happy living.

What is your worst digital habit?

My tablet has become the hub of my life–- both professionally and personally. It means I can’t let go; I look at it before going to sleep and not long after I wake up.

iPhone/Blackberry/Android. Which side are you on?

I have an iPhone for work and an Android phone for personal use. I guess that makes me the Switzerland of mobiles, playing it neutral.

Are you into social networking?

Having sworn for years never to use Twitter, I have recently taken it up (mostly for work) and have become drawn into the Twitter-sphere. I still try my best to keep away from following celebrities (Stephen Fry and Simon Pegg are exceptions!). I also use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family in America.

If you are on Twitter, who do you recommend to follow?

On a serious note, @heritagelottery is a great way to see what lottery money is doing for all kinds of people and places. For more fun, you can’t beat @sarcasticrover. Nothing like daily doses of cynicism from the Mars Rover.

What is your favourite app?

Pevsner’s Architectural Glossary. Great little sneaky cheat for architectural terms.

What is your preferred means of communication?

Definitely email. It lets me digest the question or info, give it thought and get back to people when I have a moment.

What did you last buy online?

A pair of sandals for when summer finally started.

PC or Mac?

PC - because that’s what the IT guys at work have given me.

Guilty Pleasures: Most played tunes from iTunes/Spotify?

I always go back to Dire Straits – Romeo & Juliet is a classic.
