This engineering services consultancy director enjoys a bit of Coldplay on his iTunes but online it’s all about West Ham, EastEnders and jaunts to the south of France

What’s your favourite bookmark?

I have used this site (www.logis-de-france.fr) for years, mainly for finding rustic stopovers on the way to the south of France or the Alps.

You can search by map and there are links to hotel websites so you can see pictures of where you’re booking.

What is played most on your iTunes?

I have to confess to being a Coldplay fan. They were excellent when I saw them live in Bournemouth. My wife Gill thinks their music is a bit depressing so I don’t subject her to my tastes very often – hence the iPod! My daughter Charlotte laughs at my, as she calls it, “obsession” with Nelly Furtado. It’s great summer listening with songs like On the Radio and I'm like a Bird.

Social networking: Facebook or face to face?

Although I joined Linked In I didn’t stay with it for long. Lisa, our CAD manager, and I have this idea of creating our own construction networking site and we’ve started working on the idea with our web advisers.

Best online buys?

I've been very pleased with my new golf clubs – a full set of MacGregors for only £149, reduced from nearly £400 – just got to keep the ball on the fairway now.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I watch EastEnders online. I like the way I can miss episodes but still pick it up a week later.

What’s in your digital holster?

My Sony Ericsson K800i mobile, my Cateye bike computer and my Panasonic digital camcorder – I’ve resisted sat nav to date because I nearly always know where I’m going and what speed I’m doing!

Twitter, blog or scented letter?

I do blog occasionally as I’m not the best at keeping my opinions to myself! I’ve often had my say about the “Irons”, particularly last season with the infamous Tevez affair which helped us escape relegation.
