I am writing regarding Colin Harding's article (7 April).

I am appalled by your magazine printing such an article, with such contentious points on something as important as pensions.

I am one of those "ill-treated local authority workers" who are looking to retain the conditions of service that we signed up to, in my own case more than 24 years ago.

In the public sector, we do not have any of the following that many in the private sector take for granted: private health care, bonus schemes, share incentive schemes or company cars.
