Your otherwise excellent leader (2 April, page 3) calls on the RICS to "make its members happy that they are receiving the service they deserve for a mere 32% hike in their fees".
Although I detect more than a hint of irony, it is worth reiterating that that will never happen for two reasons: (a) the exorbitant fee increase comes on top of what are probably the highest fees of any construction professional body and (b) the services are for the most part window dressing, which will never be worth more than a nominal sum.
