Heavy construction vehicles should be banned from using minor roads

In regards to the article Mean Streets (8 November) - I remember working by London Bridge when the Shard was being built and watching dozens of heavy construction vehicles driving down minor roads (which have 20 miles per hour limits ) near to a primary school and wondering why the drivers were allowed to use these roads - unfortunately only a few weeks later a young man died under the wheels of one of these lorries.

This was entirely predictable and preventable.
