Your story “Marks Barfield starts work on Olympic spike” (8 DecembeR), was inaccurate and misleading.

It is true that the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has started a feasibility study to look at options for a London Games visitor centre. At present this work is focusing on location and what might be included in such a centre if we decide to progress. We are therefore some way off deciding what such a centre might look like and, indeed, who might design it.

The study will report back in spring 2007 and a decision as to whether or not to proceed will be taken by the ODA and London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games at that point. I appreciate your story may be a little more interesting but it is possibly helpful to your readers to know the facts.
