The south dial of the Elizabeth Tower, or Big Ben as it is unofficially known, has been temporarily uncovered in order to carry out lighting trials, offering a unique view of the clock face with no hands in place. The east dial is also currently on show, as parliament aims for at least one working clock face to be visible throughout the conservation works, being carried out by Sir Robert McAlpine
