Ian Hughes is so pleased with his 20-year-old mixer that he’s given the manufacturer a verbal testimonial.
Santa won’t have to burden his sleigh with a concrete mixer when he does his rounds in Dorset this year.
Ian Hughes, a local businessman, has been the proud owner of the same Minimix concrete mixer for 20 years and he has no intention of getting a new one for Christmas.
In fact Hughes is so happy with his mixing mate that he has contacted the manufacturer, Belle Group, to share his enthusiasm.
“While cleaning the unit the other day, it dawned on me what an incredible piece of equipment it has proved to be, as it has never let me down in 20 years of ownership and is by far the most reliable tool I have ever bought,” Hughes beamed.
The Minimix has kept going despite minimum attention from Hughes. “I’ve kept it outside with just a plastic bag for protection and it still starts first time, every time,” he said.
It’s been cheap to run too. Hughes has only changed the oil four times, the spark plug three times, the drive belt twice and the silencer once.
No doubt the Belle Group will be toasting Hughes' glowing testimonial - with a mixer we hope.
