Dozens of construction firms are set to lose out on hundreds of millions of pounds of work if the review of the £4bn restoration and renewal of parliament sees the scheme pulled.

Five years after a decision was finally made about how to protect the Unesco world heritage site, it was announced yesterday that every option was now back on the table.
