Kier is launching a facilities services business by bringing together its building services and managed services operations.

It will specialise in offering a full range of hard and soft facilities services, building maintenance services and m&e engineering services, which can be integrated into a single contract.

Starting on 1 November, the new division, Kier Facilities Services (KFS), will have a turnover of around £120m and more than 1200 staff operating from bases in London, Cardiff, Basingstoke and Sheffield.

The division will be headed up by Colin Hale, who was appointed managing director of Kier Managed Services earlier this year.

Hale said: “KFS is equipped to offer a one-stop solution for the whole life-cycle of clients’ property needs, from design and installation of building services to long-term care and maintenance of their built environment.”
