A legal view on what the government’s response to the Building a Safer Future consultation means

Despite the current difficulties presented by the covid-19 outbreak, Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has today continued its response to the Grenfell Tower fire and published its response to their consultation on the Building a Safer Future legislative proposals. The proposals are for a radically different building and fire safety system and seek to address endemic problems in the housing and construction sectors. The consultation was launched last summer, with respondees given eight weeks to respond to the proposals.
