The Association for Consultancy and Engineering is forming two groups to link up with the Olympic delivery team.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering is setting up two industry groups to link up with the London Olympics delivery teams.

The strategy group will work with the London Development Agency and Transport for London among others and will consist of representatives from the construction, consultancy, finance and legal sectors.

The technical group will consist of those with experience in delivering large sports, leisure and Olympic infrastructure projects.

The groups will look at areas such as procurement, resource optimisation and planning, and sustainability.

ACE chief executive Nelson Ogunshakin said: “Our decision to set up these groups follows consultation with the industry. The two groups will provide an important interface with the Olympic delivery authorities and government.

ACE plans to establish the groups by the end of the summer and is planning a conference on delivering large projects such as the Olympics.
