Sir David John will be succeeded by non-executive director Steve Marshall, the former chief executive of Railtrack
Balfour Beatty has announced that chairman Sir David John will retire in May after five years in the job.
He will be replaced by non-executive director Steve Marshall, 51, who was formerly chief executive of Railtrack.
He is also non-executive chairman of industrial supplies group Delta and a non-executive director of Southern Water
Sir David John said: "I am delighted that Steve Marshall is to succeed me as Chairman. He will bring comprehensive plc experience, both as an executive and non-executive director, and a thorough familiarity with the construction and support services sector to the task."
