Bam brings forward net zero targets and says some ‘game’ the system to improve figures

Contractor says some metrics can ‘disguise’ how well a firm is doing

Bam is accelerating its net zero target to 2026 with the firm saying the aim is more ambitious than the group’s target to reduce its direct emissions intensity by 80% by 2026 from 2015 levels.

Bam also said it was ruling out counting electricity from green energy tariffs towards its net zero emissions and said it would not be relying heavily on carbon offsets.
