The BBC has started a search for framework contractors to supply all its construction and property needs under a £200m four-year deal across its UK estate.

The deal covers more than 7.5 million ft2 in 140 buildings, including small and medium-sized projects and M&E services.

Work is set to start in April 2006 with firms asked to express an interest by the end of September.

This procurement process follows the restructuring of the BBC/Land Securities Trillium partnership, announced in May. Under the restructured arrangement, the BBC and LST will focus on their joint property developments and LST will no longer provide construction management or facilities management services to the BBC.

Framework contracts for design and management services are likely to be awarded in the project management and planning supervision services, design services to include architecture, space planning and interior design, structural and services engineering and quantity surveying/cost management services.
