Populous' Tottenham Hotspur stadium

Haringey Council has revealed a long list of bidders vying to become its partner on a £2bn development programme for the borough.

The list includes Lend Lease, Places for People, Urban & Civic, Pinnacle with Starwood Capital and Catalyst Capital, Galliford Try with Home Group, Morgan Sindall with Circle Housing and Affinity Sutton.

The partnership will become a development vehicle for the council creating at least 5,000 homes, a new town centre and jobs over the course of the next 15-20 years.

Firstly, it will focus on the potential for regeneration in Tottenham and Wood Green, where proposals for development could see 6,000 new homes. The Tottenham area is already set to be boosted by Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs’ plans for a new £400m stadium (pictured).

The leader of Haringey Council, Claire Kober said the compiling of potential bidders was an important step in helping the council deliver one of the largest regeneration programmes in the UK.
