Tony Blair will attend topping out for Wembley's arch despite protesters gathered outside stadium.

Prime minister Tony Blair is to attend the topping out ceremony of the Wembley stadium project's landmark arch this evening.

Blair is to be joined at the star studded event by England football manager Sven Goran Eriiksson and team captain David Beckham.

Other celebrities attending include Lord Sebatsian Coe and Sir Trevor Brooking. Construction Industry celebrities will include Atkins chairman and Wembley National Stadium limited chairman Mike Jeffires and Mott McDonald boss Martin Blackburn.

The party will however be marred by hundreds of protestors outside the stadium demonstrating against 200 workers being sacked last week in a row over terms and conditions.
