Shock resignation of global chief executive after less than two years in the job

Bovis Lend Lease today announced the shock resignation of global chief executive Bob Johnston after less than two years in the job.

Johnston is leaving to head up Australand Group, the property developer.

He will replaced by Mark Menhinnitt, who has been at the company for more than 19 years. Menhinnitt will start his new role on 1 May.

Greg Clarke, chief executive of Bovis’ parent Lend Lease, said: "Mark is a very experienced operator and having so successfully built the Actus Lend Lease business and developed the team to carry it forward, he was looking for the next big opportunity within the group.”

Murray Coleman remains as Bovis’ UK chief executive.
