Sir Neville Simms takes over from Hugh Try as trust chairman.

Former Carillion head Sir Neville Simms has been appointed by BRE Trust to be its new chairman.

Sir Neville takes over from Hugh Try, who held the position since 1999. Sir Neville also heads the Government's Sustainable Procurement Task Force and is chairman of International Power.

He said he was glad to be leading the Trust at a time when a well designed, efficient and sustainable built environment was so high on everyone's agenda, but warned there were still tough times ahead. He said: "Yet there are many challenges that still have to be met if the construction programmes underway in the UK, and those planned, can meet these ideals."
