Client body leaves BPF to expand under government-backed Constructing Excellence.

The Construction Client’s Group has left the British Property Federation to join Constructing Excellence.

The CCG started up 18 months ago at the BPF but decided to expand under the umbrella of Constructing Excellence.

CCG Chairman Graham Farrant said: “A number of options were available to ensure the successful future and growth of CCG. Following extensive negotiations we are very pleased to become an integral part of CE, within a structure that maintains a strong independent but co-ordinated voice for clients.”

In a further development, the Strategic Forum have decided to review the content and management of the CCG’s Clients’ Charter.

Forum chairman Peter Rogers said: “We need to maintain momentum on adoption of Clients’ Charter principles and to do that, and to ensure we meet the Forum’s next round of targets, (50% of projects by value pursuing Charter principles by 2007), we need to make sure the Charter is relevant and up-to-date.”

The review will be managed by a cross sector group led by CCG and has the full support of stakeholders such as the Housing Corporation and the Highways Agency.
