Contractor Bowmer and Kirkland has completed the Derwent Gateway Centre, a combined community centre and cricket academy in Derby. Commissioned by Derbyshire County Cricket Club and the Derwent Community Team, funded by Sport England and designed by London-based architect Fluid, the £3.9m centre is on land previously occupied by Derby racecourse grandstand. Other members of the team included cost consultant Dobson White Boulcott and structural and services engineer Buro Happold.
