The first phase of a £3.7bn regeneration project in east London is about to get planning permission from Newham council

The Canning Town and Custom House scheme will provide more than 10,000 homes over 15 years. The masterplan for area three of the scheme, by architect Maccreanor Lavington, includes 649 homes, of which 422 will be for private sale and 227 for affordable housing. The developer is Countryside Properties working with Newham Regeneration and housing association Affinity Sutton.
