Construction consultant Cyril Sweett has completed its second South-west takeover in quick succession by acquiring Bristol QS Banks Wood & Partners.

All of Banks Wood's seven staff, including its partner, Gregg Mannell, will be joining Sweett. This brings the number of surveyors and project managers at Sweett's Bristol office up to 18.

Cyril Sweett took over Gordon Harris Partnership South West, also based in Bristol, last month.

Sweett's chairman Francis Ives said the company was still looking to expand.

"We have just won a major contract in Dublin and so are considering our set-up in the Republic of Ireland now. We are also looking at all our other regions for opportunities." In January, Cyril Sweett swallowed up CE Ball, which has offices in Norwich and Leeds. The company came 12th in Building's ranking of the top 100 quantity surveyors with 128 chartered QSs.
