The £36m lottery attraction is seeking more cash to prevent financial collapse.

The £36 million Earth Centre in Doncaster is on the verge of financial collapse after losing £60,000 in the first half of 2004.

The trustees approached the Millennium Commission for further funding, to allow time to find an alternative partner, but were refused.

The Centre, which at its peak in 2003 attracted 150,000 visitors and still made a loss, is making a last ditch effort to find a cash injection to save it from liquidation.
