London & Quadrant Group has appointed Durkan to build a regeneration project worth £34m at the Aylesbury estate, near Elephant and Castle, south London.

Designed by Levitt Bernstein, the scheme will include 260 apartments, built to meet level four of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The project is due to start this month with an estimated completion time of two years for the first phase of the project, worth £7.8m. The Aylesbury estate is one of Europe’s largest housing estates, with a population of more than 10,000.
