Architect appointed to design refurbishment of listed Covent Garden building

Gensler has been appointed by social networking firm Facebook to design its UK headquarters in London.

Facebook has taken 36,000ft2 in a listed building in Covent Garden, which will be refurbished to a design drawn up by Gensler.

The architect’s brief is to re-create the signature global Facebook brand, using the existing components of the previous fit out.

The media company is moving its 70 UK staff from Carnaby Street to the new building, which has room for up to 260 employees.
