The firms in the running for the 2026 Building Awards have been announced.

Several big-name companies and jobs have been shortlisted (see the full shortlist below) for the awards spread across 19 categories.

This year’s awards ceremony is set to take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 3 November.

Building editorial director and chair of the judges Chloe McCulloch said: “The 2026 Building Awards shortlist is a powerful reminder of the resilience, ingenuity and ambition that continues to define this industry. From safer buildings and net zero to housing growth and infrastructure, the sector is being asked to deliver more than ever and the organisations and individuals on this year’s shortlist are leading from the front.

“The standard of entries was exceptionally high, reflecting an industry that continues to innovate, collaborate and raise the bar. Congratulations to all of our finalists and we look forward to recognising their achievements at this year’s Building Awards.”

Kier Group, Mace Construct, Sisk and Willmott Dixon are all in contention to be named major contractor of the year for those firms with a turnover of more than £500m, with last year’s winner Multiplex also in the running.

A number of high-profile schemes have also been shortlisted for awards, including Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’s 1 Broadgate, Pulse Consult’s work at the V&A East Museum,  NBBJ’s Life and Mind Building job for the University of Oxford and Mace Construct’s Timber Square scheme in Southwark.

Tickets for the event, which is being sponsored by Bellrock, Clement Windows Group, DGP, Fenwick Elliott and Gleeds and in partnership with Build UK, The Climate Group, The Housing Forum and UKGBC, are on sale now.

Finalists for the final two categories, CEO and Construction Client of the Year will be revealed shortly.
