Finnforest’s SoundBar System, a hybrid timber and screed floor system, has been awarded robust detail status.

Suitable for housebuilding applications where enhanced acoustic performance is required, the system comprises an engineered I-joist combined with an anhydrite screed from Lafarge.

Finnforest has also launched a range of fire door linings and casings that has been certified by the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) approved certifire scheme, providing independent verification of the products’ fire performance.

The linings and casings use specially sourced redwood, which complies to specific density requirements to ensure the minimum burning performance required to guarantee at least the 30-minute fire barrier. In addition, all Finnforest certifire casings and linings are pre-machined with a groove to house a 4x15mm intumescent strip.

The BWF certifire scheme is an independent approval process for fire doors and related products, which aims to increase the standard of fire doors and accessory parts. Approved document Part B recommends using products that are recognised under a certification scheme such as this, which provides a guarantee that the unit will perform as expected in the event of a fire.
