Simon Kesterton starts CEO post next May
Former Kier finance director Simon Kesterton has been appointed chief executive of materials distributor SIG.
Kesterton left Kier at the end of last year after being one of then chief executive Andrew Davies’s first picks to reshape the contractor’s top team when he joined in 2019.
He started at SIG in May as chief financial officer.
In an announcement this morning, SIG said Kesterton would take over as chief executive next May. He is replacing Pim Vervaat who will become non-executive chair, having announced last July that he would be filling the chairman’s role within 18 months.
In its last set of results for the six months to June, SIG posted revenue flat at £1.3bn while it narrowed pre-tax losses from £33m to £22m.
