Scheme being built in Keelung

Work has begun on a new aquarium in Taiwan designed by Foster & Partners.

Called the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, the scheme is being built in Keelung in the northern part of the country.

The complex will hold a wide variety of species with the focal point of the aquarium being a public plaza where the facilities, such as a shop, cafe and restaurant will be located.

Special displays devoted to the conservation of local species of squid are intended to raise awareness of its importance to the local community.
