The four-year framework could see up to 30 contractors appointed

The government has begun hunting for contractors for a £1bn programme to fit-out new hub offices for civil servants across the country.

The four-year framework, split into three lots, has spots for up to 30 contractors.

Works will include HMRC’s consolidation programme to shift employees from 170 offices into 13 new regional centres, on which consultant Turner & Townsend is strategic delivery partner.

The first lot is valued at £500m and covers the entire country for projects in excess of £25m. The other two lots are valued at £250m each covering projects with construction values below £25m and are split between the North and South of the UK.

PPQs are due back by midday on 16 January with tender invites expected in February. The framework will be awarded in May.
