Climate change minister invites bidders from commerical and community sectors

A £4m fund to support the installation of biomass-fuelled heating and combined heat & power projects, has been opened to bidders.

The fund, launched by climate change minister, Phil Woolas, is open to applicants from the industrial, commercial and community sectors.

The fund will include grants for the installation of anaerobic digesters and can cover up to a maximum of 40% of the cost of installation, up to £100,000.

The government said the fund was open to both small and large businesses alike, as well as schools, colleges, councils and housing associations and charities.
