Mixed-use deal being developed by local council and Morgan Sindall

A £100m mixed-use scheme in Bournemouth has been given the go-ahead.

The Winter Gardens scheme, designed by Hampshire practice Brightspace Architects, is set to regenerate almost 2ha in the centre of the town.

The scheme, which is being developed by Bournemouth Development Company, a public-private partnership between Bournemouth council and Morgan Sindall Investments, is set to deliver 352 new homes across four apartment blocks.

The apartments will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, while there will also be a number of penthouses up for grabs

More than 4,000m2 of leisure space, 1,000m2 of retail and 1,500m2 of restaurant space is also included in the scheme.

The wider project team includes Aecom as quantity surveyor, Savills as planning consultant and Hoare Lea as the M&E engineer.

A contractor is yet to be appointed.
