Housing minister gives £27.5m cash injection and reveals three Public Land Initiative sites

Housing minister John Healey today announced funding for 24 new Kickstart sites and three new Public Land Initiative sites.

The new Kickstart sites, which will be funded by a £27.5m cash injection, are spread across the country. The three Public Land Initiative sites are at:

  • Lightmoor Urban Village in Telford, where work on 100 homes will start in November.
  • Mildmay Regeneration in London’s Tower Hamlets, where 139 homes will begin in August.
  • Birmingham, where 230 homes are planned across six sites owned by Birmingham council, with work starting in September.

The sites are in addition to the first sites made available under the Public Land Initiative in Doncaster, Milton Keynes and Newcastle.
