It consists of expanded polystyrene blocks that are laid on the base of the excavated area and was developed to interface with insulating concrete formwork used for constructing walls. The company said the steel reinforcement integrated the wall and floor junction, helping make the basement watertight. The company also said integrating wall and floor insulation virtually eradicated thermal bridging.
