Police service sues construction firm over HQ building

Kent police is suing design and construction company H&D Support Services over its £20m headquarters between Chatham and Gillingham.

The row over the 8,000m2 building is centred on whether H&D should be allowed more time to complete the project, because of issues involving the entrance to the visitor’s car park.

An adjudicator awarded H&D an extra two months in March, but Kent police says this decision was wrong, and is asking the High Court to rule that H&D is not entitled to an extension.
