New division will target large-scale refurb and new build jobs

Kier is launching a new operating business for its London & Thames Valley region called specialists projects.

The firm already has two units in the region, covering private and public sector work, with the third unit aimed at large-scale refurbishment and selected new build projects for customers.

Kier, which has been on a recruitment drive in the capital, has yet to appoint a regional director to lead it.

Kier completed the Network building for Derwent earlier this year

Kier said: “Tt will offer specialist expertise to help customers transform existing assets into modern and high-performing environments.

“The move reflects both the scale of recent growth in the region and ambitions for the years ahead. It will also improve resilience and help ensure the business continues to remain well positioned for sustainable long-term growth.

The firm is also launching a new Cat-B Fit Out offer for Kier London & Thames Valley.

It said: “This will enable customers to benefit from our end-to-end capability, combining in-house design, engineering and M&E expertise to deliver urban projects that help customers decarbonise assets, extend building lifecycles, and create future-ready environments.”

Kier has been growing its business in the capital with recent jobs including the Network building for Derwent while it recently picked up a scheme to refurbish a 1990s building in the City called Fleet Place and another job for Derwent in the West End.
