Lafarge’s new GTEC Aqua Board offers a high-performance Gypsum alternative to cement boards and is suitable for wet and high humidity applications.

It promises water, mould and fire resistance, sound insulation and impact protection qualities. Suitable for internal and external environments, it can be left onsite, exposed to all weather conditions for up to six months.

The orange-coloured board is made of aerated calcium sulphate dehydrate and is taper-edged.

It can be used as a tile backer for bathrooms or swimming pools, or used as a sheathing board on structural steel framed external wall in-fill panels.

The product can also be used for drylining any project where partitions and linings are to be installed before the building is weather-tight; for lining bathroom pods, where these are manufactured offsite; and for lining exposed roof trusses used as separating wall frames
