Developer Land Securities has quashed rumours that director John Anderson is to join rival Chelsfield
A statement from the firm said: "John has received several approaches in the past year, but he is happy where he is."

The denial came despite speculation that the former Bovis Lend Lease boss was to take a key role in Chelsfield's £500m White City retail scheme in west London.

One source said Chelsfield needed an experienced hand to oversee the Ian Ritchie-designed White City scheme, which will be built by Australian contractor Multiplex.

Anderson quit Bovis in October 2000, where he had been managing director of its European division, to join Land Securities' property division.

He has more than 25 years' experience at P&O and Bovis, starting with property development and moving on to construction.

A Chelsfield spokesperson was tight-lipped on any new appointments. She said: "We have no comment on any proposed employment."
